Towards the end of the 1990s, the Teva Tour was still an icon in the outdoor world, but it was never organised again after that. In 2008, the Teva Tour is back with a vengeance, boasting a new team, a new and improved sport and a world of freedom. Fifteen international pro kayakers travel through seven European countries, braving the elements. The goal? To portray the extreme sport of kayaking and the lifestyle that goes with it.
This group of athletes is always seeking out the ultimate conditions for their sport, chasing good water levels and the sun, on a quest for the most beautiful waterfalls, the biggest waves, the coolest rapids and to achieve that one perfect moment that it’s all about.

Big names like Pat Keller, Ben Brown, Casper van Kalmthout, Arnd Schaeftlein, Anthony Yap, Ron Fisher, Martina Wegman, Beat Ruettimann, Michele Ramazza and the Strohmeier brothers will be mastering the best rivers of Europe. Travelling together in buses, the roof racks stacked with kayaks, they will journey through the European landscape of mountains and rivers, followed by top photographer Thilo Brunner and a professional film crew that will record the lifestyle and the action on the water.

The Teva Tour 2008 (3000km) visits Europe’s best and most beautiful kayak locations. Whitewater and freestyle locations are included. The tour will pass through Italy, Switzerland, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands, among other countries. The Tour will kick off on the 13th of May at the Teva eXtreme Outdoor Games in Valsesia, Italy. The kayakers will also drop in at two kayak events, visiting the Straight Down Striit on the 17th of May in Switzerland, and closing off with a big finale for the Teva Tour at the Bregenzer Ache on the 22th of May in Austria.
