Catching a wave in Munich
Date: 22-05-2008
After some swimming pool time with some great individual tower jump competitions it was time to leave for Bregenz and set up the camp on the location of High5 Rafting. Right after the set up a team of 2 cars full of playboaters left for a session on the Eisbach wave in Munich.

The Eisbach is a wave that is pretty much owned by river surfers. For this reason it’s better as a kayaker to wait till it gets dark before you jump on the wave. When we arrived at Eisbach it was already close to midnight and still 3 surfers were rocking the wave. Luckily these boys didn’t seem to make much of a problem of 6 freestyle kayakers and we joined them for a spotlight session in the dark.

The wave was hard to catch and to handle but the session was hilarious and brought us some great footage. It might have even been worth the 3,5 hour drive back at 2 am…
